You probably know that it’s important for you to brush and floss your teeth regularly if you want to enjoy a healthy smile. If you don’t remove bad bacteria and plaque from your teeth, you may find yourself dealing with tooth decay. If you’re interested in adding an extra layer of defense to your teeth, we recommend considering the benefits of dental sealants.
As you may know, sealants are useful because they keep food and bacteria out of hard-to-clean areas of your teeth. Typically, sealants are placed in your back molars because they can be hard to reach. If you have sealants placed, you may prevent cavities and could help your teeth stay stronger for years to come.
But how do you know if sealants are right for you? Typically, children–specifically children between six and twelve years old–are the best candidates. However, anyone with healthy teeth can also be a good candidate. In addition, if your teeth are weak, our team may recommend sealants in an effort to save your teeth.
Sealants can last for many years, especially if they’re cared for well. But sealants should not take the place of regular brushing and flossing. If you would like to learn more about dental sealants, or would like to learn more about how you can protect the health of your teeth, please don’t hesitate to contact Scott M.
